The Samsung 29-inch freestanding top-freezer refrigerator with FlexZone™ offers a huge 18 cu. ft. of space including a FlexZone™ (a versatile fridge compartment that converts the freezer into a fridge). The doors are reversible, and this is a 29-inch rather than a standard 30-inch model, making this a flexible fit for most kitchen spaces. What’s more, it beats out most similarly sized models for energy-efficiency, using just 364 kWh/yr.

The refrigerator has 3 adjustable glass shelves that can slide in and flip up as needed, as well as a Slide & Reach pantry, 3 door bins, and 2 humidity controlled crispers. LED lighting make for energy-efficient illumination, and this refrigerator features Twin Cooling Plus™ which works to maintain optimal temperature and humidity, keeping food fresher longer.

This model has an optional ice maker, automatic defrost, 2 glass shelves and 2 door bins in the freezer. It is not ADA compliant, but it does have a Star K certified Sabbath mode. And, importantly, the Samsung 29-inch freestanding top-freezer uses r600a as a coolant and pentane for insulation, instead of CFCs, HCFCs, or HFCs.

This model is available in Black Stainless Steel RT18M6213SG, Stainless Steel RT18M6213SR, and White RT18M6213WW.

Samsung RT18M6213WW vs. Blomberg vs Liebherr Monolith

The Samsung is an excellent energy-efficient refrigerator for anyone looking for that little bit extra space and/or a Star K certified model. It uses less energy than the Blomberg 30-inch refrigerator, but a little more than the more impressively eco-friendly high-performance Liebherr Monolith. The Monolith also has a fantastic warranty and is RoHS and REACH compliant, but the Samsung has the advantage of being made in the US, which gives it some upfront eco-friendliness. All in all, if your money stretches to the Monolith and you don’t require a Sabbath mode, go for the Liebherr model, with its RoHS and REACH certifications and lower energy usage.
