The GE Profile PS960BLTS is a standard 30-inch wide, 2.2 cu Upper / 4.4 cu Lower, freestanding smoothtop range with radiant electric elements and an electric oven. It features 5 surface cooking elements, including 1 high-powered element, 2 mid-power elements, and 2 low-power elements, as well as bridge element capability. As you want with any electric stovetop, the GE Profile features elements that allow you to match the heat output to your pans and pots to save energy and money. Unlike most electric ranges, however, the GE Profile offers both a dual element (8”/5”) and a triple element (12”/9”/6”) for even greater flexibility.
The larger lower oven has a convection mode while the upper is standard. This model also includes a temperature probe, and the oven is operated using touchpads. It has 6 rack positions and includes self-cleaning racks (i.e. the racks can be left in during self-cleaning mode, to minimize handwashing). The GE Profile has a ‘Steam-Clean’ option, which is great for saving time and energy if a lighter clean is all that’s needed.
Star-K certified and ADA compliant, this oven also has an auto self-cleaning mode and an auto safety shut-off (with override). It is Prop 65 certified.
GE Profile PS960BLTS vs. GE Profile PHS930 Range
If you’re looking for a radiant electric stovetop range, the GE Profile is the best of the best. It’s one of the few to be Prop 65 certified, is mostly made in America (thereby reducing energy wasted on shipping from overseas) and offers a variety of energy and time saving functions. It is also a great option for anyone who wants to cook multiple things in the oven at different temperatures as it has two fully functioning oven sections rather than just a warming drawer.
